Gaming Builds
Getting Started
I strongly recommend getting an idea of what your budget is or seeing what type of budget is required for your needs. Many builds can sacrifice visually appealing elements for performance to fit the budget but have a higher end PC. The opposite can also be true; you can build a really good looking PC and have to get lower performing parts because of the budget.
The first place to start exploring PC builds is PC Part Picker. You can find very high end or extreme budget builds, and everything in between.
Example (my build from 2020): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/23ndBZ
This is a very high end build. You can have a very enjoyable PC for less than half of that price.
Selecting and Purchasing Parts
Some people prefer to purchase all needed parts at once, while others want to get the bare minimum to be operational and add other parts. Either works as long as you plan ahead. PC Part Picker helps check things off your list as well.
Required Parts:
CPU (Central Processing Unit)
CPU Cooler (liquid or air)
Motherboard
RAM (Random Access Memory)
Storage - SSD (Solid State Drive) is best at least for the operating system
GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)
PSU (Power Supply Unit)
Case
Fans or system cooling devices (If not included with case)
Additional Needs:
Operating System (Example: Windows 11)
Monitor
Mouse
Keyboard
Headset
If you have never build a PC before, please do not purchase anything before contacting me if you would like me to build or assist in building it. There are many requirements for compatibility with every part down to the monitor, and significant considerations to be made for your overall desired experience.
Sometimes a pre-built PC might suit your needs. I have found that occasionally a pre-built can be slightly cheaper and less of a hassle for first time PC gamers. On the other hand, there is nothing like the satisfaction of customizing and building your own PC. Feel free to consult me about the capabilities of a pre-built PC or even builds on PC Part Picker or that you saw on other sites or media that are within your budget. I am here to help and give my honest opinion based on a partial lifetime of experience in PC building.
